Mother’s Milk

2020, digital print

FELTexchange, FELTspace, Kaurna Land, South Australia

FELTexchange, as apart of FELTspace’s, SALA 2020 online exhibition, South Australian artists and writers were curatorially paired to respond to each others practice for the duration of the exhibition. Sharing themes of a consciousness landscape, a spectrum of realities and skew points of perception, poet and writer Em Konig, and Olivia Kathigitis created a ‘call and response’ exhibition - of responding to each others weekly offerings of creativity.

Reacting to Konig’s sound and poetic practice, Mother’s Milk wades through conscious layers to find another state of being. A masked Shamana greets their audience from their subconscious state.

Shot as a digital image - the mask is made from hand embossed buffalo leather, and dyed cotton.
